Cabbage Soup


Well you need

Makes about 5 L which is 20x250ml serves (250ml = 3 soup ladles or 1 cup.) Calories count for tinned tomato might be a bit generous, so actual total could be less than what is calculated, but at 35 cal / serve I wasn't worried.


Cabbage - Savoy, raw, 500 g
Tinned Tomatoes - Tinned Tomatoes, 2 cans
Fresh Ground Black Pepper , 2 g or to taste.
Carrots - Raw diced, 100 g
Onions - Raw chopped , 170 g
Water - 2L (maybe too much)
Continental - Stock Pot - Beef, 2 x tubs.
Capsicum - Red or Yellow or Green (1 Medium - 140g Fresh), 65 g
Continental Parsley - chopped, 30 g
Whitlock's - Homestyle Traditional Worcester Sauce, (Or any Worcestershire Sauce - all about the same calories) 50ml
Generic - Celery, Raw, 375gm
Coles - French Onion Dried Soup Mix, 1 container (1000 mls ea.)

Brown Onions, put the rest in
Simmer it all for an hour then put the handheld blender in and give it abiut an 80% blend leaving some texture rather than homogenising it completely

Cook for a while
